The Sacraments

Baptism

It is through Baptism that one is accepted and recognised as a member of Christ’s Church

If you wish to have your child baptised at St Andrew’s you will first meet with a member of the pastoral team.  This is most easily done at parish surgery, 7pm on a Monday evening.  The pastoral team member will fill in a form with you.  The baptism course takes place in January, March, May, July, September and November on a Thursday evening at 8pm.  Baptisms happen on the first and last Sunday of the month at 1pm.

The Sacrament of the Sick

This Sacrament used to be known as “Extreme Unction” or even “Last Rites”. It is a beautiful Sacrament, and is available for anyone who is seriously ill, (either physically or mentally) or about to have major surgery. It is there for our elderly and frail parishioners too.

We have an Annual Mass for the Sick, where our sick and housebound are brought to the Church and anointed during Mass. Our priests are frequently called to Croydon University Hospital to anoint patients there. If you would like a member of your family to receive this Sacrament, then, please do not hesitate to contact us.
