Parish Income During the Current Pandemic
Dear Parishioners,
During the current crisis the Church has been closed since 20 March 2020 in accordance with government guidelines.
Consequently, our weekly collections of £1,296 (£427 gift aided envelopes plus £869 loose cash in baskets) have ceased.
Hopefully, the monthly standing orders of £3,044 (£2,565 gift aided plus £479 not gift aided) will continue.
In a recent cash flow submitted to the Diocese for six months to 30 September 2020, our monthly outflow is £11,000 (including diocesan assessment of £5,455) resulting in an overdraft of £54,000. The Diocese has indicated that they will continue to collect their assessment.
We acknowledge, fully understand and respect individual financial circumstances in this very difficult time which affects each and every one of us.
Since the lockdown, we are unable to distribute the 2020/21 gift aid envelopes.
We encourage parishioners who are using envelopes to continue using them if they still have some left. You can use any plain envelopes but you must write your box number on it to enable us to claim the tax. Please save all these envelopes and bring them in when we are finally able to attend mass.
Parishioners who are not in the gift aid scheme or on standing orders are encouraged to join the scheme. You can do so by completing the gift aid and standing order forms, scan and email it to the parish office on [email protected].
If you are not a UK taxpayer you still can make a donation using the standing order form.
Please consider making regular payments if you can use any of the following methods:
- Online payment (this is very easy to set up via your own bank account)
- By cheque
- Paypal
Whichever payment method you use, you must provide your box number and surname as your reference. This information is important for us to make the tax claim without which it would be not be possible to submit the claim.
Please indicate ‘Easter’ if the donations are for Easter Offering.
